Refund Policy

When a refund is possible, and when it is not

Last updated: September 17, 2026

1. Overview

At RIP | Generations Digital, we provide digital memorial services, account-based services, scheduled services, and made-to-order physical products. Some services are delivered immediately, while others involve work, publication, processing, storage, scheduling, or physical production specifically for you. This Refund Policy explains when a payment may be refunded and when it is non-refundable. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions and Public Offer.

Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory consumer or other statutory rights that apply to you under the laws of your jurisdiction.

2. The 14-Day Rule

Unless a different rule is stated below or mandatory law provides otherwise, a refund request may be submitted within 14 calendar days of the relevant payment, provided that the service connected with that payment has not been provided, activated, published, delivered, or materially performed.

The 14-day period is a period for requesting a refund; it does not create a right to a refund after a service has already been consumed or substantially performed. If work has already begun or a service has already been delivered, activated, published, or made available, the payment may be non-refundable even if fewer than 14 days have passed.

Example — a QR plaque made to order. If you order a physical QR plaque for a specific memorial and production has not yet started, you may request a refund subject to the applicable rules. Once the plaque has entered production, the order is generally non-refundable because the product is made specifically for you and materials, labor, and production capacity have already been committed.

3. Memorial Plans

Our memorial plans are Basic (10 years, free), Legacy (100 years), and Infinity (permanent).

  • Basic (Free): No payment is taken for the Basic plan, so there is no plan fee to refund.
  • Legacy & Infinity: The applicable plan fee is charged when the memorial is successfully published. If publication has not occurred and no service connected with the payment has been provided, a refund may be requested within the applicable 14-day period.
  • After publication: Once the memorial has been successfully published and the paid plan has been activated, the plan service has been provided and the plan fee is generally non-refundable.

Memorials placed in Reserve status do not trigger a plan charge, so there is no plan payment to refund while the memorial remains reserved.

4. Physical Products (QR Plaques)

QR plaques and other made-to-order physical products are produced specifically for an individual memorial or customer. Before production begins, a refund may be available under the applicable 14-day rule.

Once production has started, the order is generally non-refundable because the product has been custom-produced and cannot reasonably be treated as ordinary stock. This applies even if the customer subsequently changes their mind or no longer wants the product.

If a product arrives damaged, materially defective, or incorrect due to our error, we will provide an appropriate remedy, which may include replacement, repair, or refund, as required by the circumstances and applicable law.

5. Instantly-Delivered Services

The following services are delivered, activated, or consumed immediately and are generally non-refundable once the relevant action has occurred:

  • Virtual gifts, including candles, flowers, and messages, once they are displayed on a memorial
  • Featured or Pin-to-Top placement once the promotion has started
  • Color highlighting once the visual change has been applied
  • Background music once it has been activated on the memorial
  • Video upload, storage, and processing services once the relevant processing or storage has been initiated
  • Other digital features or enhancements that are activated or made available immediately

A refund may nevertheless be available where our technical failure prevented the paid service from being delivered at all, or where a refund is otherwise required by applicable law.

6. Scheduled Gifts and Automatic Charges

RIP.GD may allow users to schedule recurring reminders and automatic gifts for memorials saved in their favorites or for memorials selected through the Custom Schedule feature.

Scheduled gifts are optional. They are processed only when the User has enabled the applicable automatic gift setting or created a custom schedule containing a paid gift.

6.1 Scheduled Gift Charges

When a scheduled paid gift is successfully processed, the applicable amount is deducted from the User's Wallet balance. The charge is based on the gift type and duration selected by the User and the applicable price displayed by RIP.GD.

For the automatic rose option associated with birthdays or passing anniversaries, the rose is placed for three (3) days and the applicable charge is $5 for the complete three-day placement, unless a different price is displayed by RIP.GD before the transaction.

The scheduled rose is placed one day before the applicable memorial date. Custom schedules may also repeat annually according to the date selected by the User.

6.2 Cancellation Before Processing

A scheduled gift that has not yet been processed may be disabled or deleted by the User through the available Schedule controls. No charge is made for a scheduled gift that is successfully cancelled before processing.

Because a future scheduled gift has not yet been delivered, cancelling it before processing does not require a refund. The User simply prevents the future transaction from occurring.

6.3 After a Scheduled Gift Has Been Placed

Once a scheduled gift has been successfully placed on a memorial, the associated service has been delivered and the charge is generally non-refundable.

This applies even if the User subsequently changes their mind, disables the schedule, removes the memorial from favorites, or no longer wants the gift to remain displayed. Disabling a schedule prevents future scheduled transactions but does not reverse a gift that has already been successfully placed.

6.4 Insufficient Wallet Balance

If the User does not have sufficient Wallet funds when a scheduled paid gift is due, RIP.GD will not place the gift and will not intentionally create a negative Wallet balance as a result of that scheduled transaction.

The User may receive an email notification informing them that the scheduled gift could not be processed. The applicable automatic-gift option may then be disabled. No charge is made for a scheduled gift that was not successfully placed because of insufficient funds.

6.5 Failed or Partially Delivered Scheduled Services

If a scheduled gift is charged but is not successfully delivered because of a technical failure attributable to RIP.GD, the User may contact support for review. Depending on the circumstances, RIP.GD may restore the applicable Wallet amount, provide the affected service again, or issue another appropriate remedy.

No refund is due where the scheduled gift was successfully delivered but the User later decides that the gift, memorial, date, or duration was not what they intended to select.

6.6 Memorial Availability

A scheduled gift depends on the continued availability and eligibility of the selected memorial. If the memorial has been deleted, restricted, removed, unpublished, or otherwise cannot receive the selected gift when the schedule is processed, RIP.GD may skip the scheduled action.

If a scheduled gift is skipped before a charge is successfully completed, no refund is necessary because no charge has been made. If a charge has already occurred despite the gift not being delivered, the User may contact support for review.

6.7 Price Changes

Scheduled gifts are charged at the applicable price displayed or communicated by RIP.GD. If the price of a scheduled gift changes, RIP.GD may provide notice and may require the User to confirm or update the schedule before future paid executions, where technically appropriate.

7. Account Balance

  • Funds added to your Wallet remain available for eligible RIP.GD services until they are used or otherwise handled in accordance with our Terms & Conditions.
  • Unused Wallet balance may be refundable, including when an account is closed, provided that the relevant funds have not already been consumed for services or otherwise become non-refundable under this policy.
  • Where a Wallet refund is approved, RIP.GD may deduct only the actual, non-recoverable payment, banking, currency-conversion, or refund-processing costs that were necessarily incurred in connection with the original payment and/or the return of the funds, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
  • These costs are not a fixed $5 fee and there is no fixed $10 minimum balance requirement for requesting a Wallet refund. The actual amount may vary depending on the customer's country, currency, original payment method, payment provider, bank, and available refund method.
  • Where no such non-recoverable cost has been incurred, no such deduction will be made.
  • If Wallet funds have already been used for a service, the portion attributable to that service is governed by the refund rules applicable to that service.
  • Funds consumed by successfully processed scheduled gifts are treated as used Wallet funds and are subject to the scheduled-gift refund rules in Section 6.

8. How to Request a Refund

Submit a refund request through our Contact Form. Please include your account email, transaction ID, date of payment, the service or Wallet transaction involved, and a brief explanation of the request.

For a scheduled gift, please include the affected memorial, scheduled date, gift type, and any transaction or Wallet reference available in your account.

We will review the request against this policy and applicable law. If a refund is approved, we will normally return the funds to the original payment method where reasonably possible. If the original method cannot receive the refund, we may request additional information or use another appropriate method permitted by the payment provider and applicable law.

Refund timing depends on the payment provider, bank, currency, and refund method. Processing by RIP.GD and processing by your bank or payment provider are separate stages, and the latter may take additional business days.

9. Chargebacks

If you believe a charge is incorrect, unauthorized, duplicated, or otherwise eligible for a refund, please contact us before initiating a chargeback whenever possible. We will review the transaction and attempt to resolve legitimate payment issues directly.

We may suspend or restrict an account, memorial, Wallet, scheduled gift, or related services while investigating a disputed transaction or an apparent misuse of the payment system, subject to applicable law. A chargeback does not automatically create a right to a refund, and submitting a chargeback does not eliminate any amount that is legitimately owed for services already provided.

Where a payment dispute is resolved in our favor, we reserve the right to recover amounts properly chargeable to the customer, including applicable payment-provider dispute costs, to the extent permitted by law. We will not impose a separate arbitrary chargeback penalty where prohibited by applicable law.

Please contact us first. Many payment problems can be resolved more quickly through direct support. If a transaction is genuinely unauthorized or otherwise protected by your payment provider's dispute rules, you retain the right to use those procedures.

10. Non-Refundable — Summary

Subject to applicable statutory rights, the following payments are generally non-refundable once the relevant service or production has occurred:

  • Services already fully rendered, activated, published, or consumed
  • Legacy or Infinity plan fees after the memorial has been successfully published and the plan activated
  • Made-to-order physical products once production has started
  • Virtual gifts and other instantly delivered features once they are displayed or activated
  • Scheduled gifts once they have been successfully placed on a memorial
  • Featured, promotional, or other placement services once the relevant period or promotion has started
  • Video processing or storage services after the relevant processing or storage has been initiated
  • Any portion of a Wallet balance that has already been used for a non-refundable service
  • Payments for which the applicable refund period has expired, unless a refund is otherwise required by law

Discounted or promotional pricing does not by itself remove rights that cannot legally be waived. Where a promotional service has already been delivered or consumed, the same service-specific refund rules apply unless applicable law requires otherwise.

11. Your Statutory Rights

Nothing in this Refund Policy excludes, restricts, or replaces any mandatory rights or remedies you may have under applicable consumer-protection, payment, contract, or other laws. This includes any rights that cannot legally be waived or limited by agreement.

Where applicable law provides a refund, cancellation, replacement, repair, chargeback, or other remedy that is more favourable than the rules stated here, the mandatory legal right will apply. This policy is intended to operate only to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, payment methods, legal requirements, or business practices. The "Last updated" date above identifies the current version.

Changes will apply prospectively unless otherwise required by law. A change to this policy will not retroactively remove refund or other rights that already arose under the version applicable to a transaction.
