Everything you can do on RIP - explained simply.

Getting Started

Creating your first memorial takes only a few minutes:

  1. Create an account. Register with your email, or sign in instantly with Google or Facebook.
  2. Verify your email. If you registered with an email address, open the message we send and enter the code. This keeps accounts secure.
  3. Create a memorial. From your dashboard, choose Create Memorial, fill in the name, dates, and story, and add a photo.
  4. Choose a plan. Pick how long the memorial should be preserved - Basic, Legacy, or Infinity.
  5. Publish and share. Once approved, your memorial has its own web address you can share with family and friends.

Your Account

Signing in

You can sign in three ways: with your email and password, with Google, or with Facebook. All three lead to the same account as long as they share the same email address.

Forgot your password?

On the login page, choose Forgot password. We email you a secure link to set a new one. The link is valid for a limited time for your protection.

Your dashboard

The dashboard is your home base. From here you manage your profile, your memorials, saved memorials, gifts, billing history, and - if you have them - QR plaque orders.

Creating & Managing Memorials

Building a Memorial

Add the full name, dates, birthplace, and a life story. Upload a main photo and build a gallery. You can also add professions, places, and other details that help tell the person's story.

Please note: the first name and last name must be entered in English. If you would like to show the name in your own language as well, use the Native name field — there you can write the first and last name in your native language.

Photos, Videos & Documents

Upload photos (automatically optimized), add video - both links and your own uploaded files - and attach important documents such as certificates or letters. Limits depend on your plan.

Editing & Moderation

You can edit a memorial any time from your dashboard. New memorials and some changes are reviewed before going live, to keep the site respectful for everyone.

Preservation Plans

Every memorial is created under a plan that decides how long it is kept and which features are available:

  • Basic (10 years) — preservation with core memorial features.
  • Legacy (100 years) — preservation with expanded limits for photos, video, and family ties.
  • Infinity (permanent) — permanent preservation, highest limits, and exclusive features such as DNA preservation.

For current pricing, see the Prices page. You can request an upgrade to Infinity from your dashboard.

What Makes Us Different

The 3D Cemetery

Every memorial has a place in a virtual cemetery you can walk through. Move between graves, explore the grounds, and find family resting nearby. Open it from the memorial page or from the homepage.

Time Capsules

A time capsule lets you leave more than words. Seal a written message, photos, and even a video together, to be opened automatically on a future date you choose. Until that day arrives, the capsule stays completely locked; no one can open it early.

Family Ties

Link memorials to one another to build a navigable family tree of real pages. When you connect two memorials, the other person may be asked to confirm the relationship.

Digital Testament

Appoint a trusted person to manage your account in the future. If the account becomes inactive for a long time, management can pass to them, so the memory is never lost. Set this up under Testament in your dashboard.

360° Grave Panoramas

Upload a panoramic photo of the real grave so relatives can recognize it instantly and find it easily when they visit in person. Each memorial can also store the grave's location and plot number, turning the digital page into a practical guide to the physical resting place.

DNA Preservation

Available on the Infinity plan, this is a true DNA bank. We preserve biological heritage in two forms at once - stored physically as a biological sample, and recorded digitally alongside the memorial. It is the most complete way to pass on a legacy: not only names, photographs, and stories, but the genetic thread that connects a family across generations.

QR Plaques for the Graveside

Connect the physical resting place to the digital memorial with a QR code. Anyone who scans it at the graveside instantly opens the full memorial on their phone.

How to order

  1. Open the memorial and tap the QR icon.
  2. Choose Order a physical plaque.
  3. Select a plaque type, enter the delivery address, and place the order. The cost is charged from your account balance.

You will receive email updates as your order is produced, shipped (with a tracking number), and delivered. Every plaque is made from a weatherproof material that resists wind, rain, snow, and UV.

Tributes & Interactions

Gifts & Flowers

Leave a gift or flowers on any memorial for a chosen period. They appear on the page as a mark of remembrance. Gifts are paid from your account balance.

Comments

Share memories and condolences. Comments may be reviewed before appearing, to keep every memorial respectful.

Highlight & Promotion

Give a memorial extra visibility - promote it to the top of listings for a period, or add a color highlight to make its card stand out.

Saving Favorites

Save any memorial to your favorites so you can return to it quickly from your dashboard.

A Candle for Every Soul

We hold every person in gentle memory. On each memorial's birthday and day of passing, we light a candle for them automatically — free of charge, as a mark of respect.

The 3D Cemetery in Detail

The 3D cemetery is a place you can visit any time, to walk among the memorials of the people you knew and loved. It is the heart of what makes RIP different, and there is a lot you can do there.

Moving around

Walking through the cemetery is simple. On a computer, use the arrow keys (or W, A, S, D) to move and your mouse to look around. On a phone, on-screen arrows appear for movement, along with helpful prompts to guide you through the space. Walk up to any monument to open that person's memorial - read their story, leave a comment, send a gift, listen to their music, or order a QR plaque.

At the start and end of each cemetery there are gates. Use them to leave (or press ESC) and to enter other cemeteries. We're always working to add new and varied cemeteries, and your feedback helps shape them.

Plots & buying land

You can reserve a plot on the grounds of the 3D cemetery so your memorial has its own permanent place there. Reserving land is a one-time payment that guarantees your memorial stays exactly where you placed it. If the land is not bought, another user may take that spot, and your memorial will move to the next free place. Buying land matters most for a chosen location - say, beside a fountain - and for family monuments (double, triple), which you'll want to keep together.

Monuments

The free plan comes with a small plate - surname, name, and dates, without a photo. On paid plans you can change the size and shape of monuments and join them into family monuments. We keep adding new monuments, decorations, and details as the project grows. You can also ask an admin to place a fence, plant a tree, or add other decorations around your plot.

Gifts, music & atmosphere

Registered users can do far more than visit. Leave gifts and flowers - shown both on the memorial plate and at the grave - write comments, choose music or effects, and even control the weather over the cemetery. Guests who aren't signed in have much more limited options, so it's worth creating an account.

Create a Memorial in Advance - For Yourself or Someone You Love

Life can change in a single moment, often before we've had the chance to leave the mark we intended. Creating a memorial ahead of time is a quiet, powerful way to make sure your story is told exactly as you would want it.

You can prepare a complete memorial for yourself, a friend, or a relative while there is still time - choose and reserve a plot and monument, upload your best photos and videos, write a full biography in your own words, and attach the documents that matter. Nothing is left to chance or to someone else's memory of you.

How to prepare one

This feature works through the Reserve button, which is available on paid plans only (Legacy and Infinity).

  1. Create and fill in the memorial as usual, but leave the date of passing empty.
  2. In the edit form, press the “Reserve” button.
  3. That's it - your memorial is saved and completely hidden from everyone.

Later, when the time comes, a relative or the trusted contact named in your profile simply adds the date of passing and publishes the memorial.

Making publication certain

This option is available on the Infinity plan only. To be completely sure your memorial is published and your time capsule is opened, you can name us as your trusted contact. In your profile, under Digital Legacy → Trusted Contact, enter:

One condition applies: you should sign in to your account at least once a year. If you stop signing in for a long time, our team reaches out through your listed contacts to your relatives or the appropriate services to obtain the necessary information. Only after carefully reviewing what we receive do we take the appropriate steps.

Your Balance & Payments

Most paid features - gifts, promotion, QR plaques, plots - are paid from your account balance. This keeps everything in one place and lets you act quickly without re-entering card details.

Topping up

Add funds from your dashboard using a card or PayPal. Your new balance is available right away.

Billing history

Every top-up and purchase is listed under Billing & History, where you can review transactions and download records.

Large payments

For large or special payments, use the Payment Request form and our team will arrange the best method with you.

A note on payment fraud

We take payment fraud seriously in order to protect our community and keep the service fair for everyone. Attempts to abuse card payments — for example, topping up with a credit card and then reversing or charging back the transaction after using the funds — will be detected and stopped. Accounts involved in such activity may be suspended, and any memorials or orders affected may be withheld. Please only use payment methods that belong to you.
