Everything you can do on RIP.GD - explained simply

Getting Started

Creating your first memorial takes only a few minutes:

  2. Verify your email. If you registered with an email address, open the message we send and enter the code. This helps keep your account secure.
  3. Create a memorial. From your dashboard, choose Create Memorial, enter the name, dates, and story, and add a photo.
  4. Choose a plan. Pick how long the memorial is scheduled to be preserved - Basic, Legacy, or Infinity.
  5. Publish and share. Once approved, your memorial has its own web address that you can share with family and friends.

Your Account

Signing in

You can sign in with your email and password, Google, or Facebook. Where supported by the sign-in system, accounts using the same verified email address may be connected to the same RIP.GD account.

Forgot your password?

On the login page, choose Forgot password. We email you a secure link to set a new one. The link is valid for a limited time for your protection.

Your dashboard

The dashboard is your home base. From here you can manage your profile, memorials, favorites, memorial dates, reminder and schedule settings, gifts, billing history, and - if applicable - QR plaque orders and other account services.

Creating & Managing Memorials

Building a Memorial

Add the full name, dates, birthplace, and life story. Upload a main photo and build a gallery. You can also add professions, places, and other details that help tell the person's story.

Please note: the first name and last name must be entered in English. If you would like to display the name in your own language as well, use the Native name field to enter the first and last name in your native language.

Photos, Videos & Documents

Upload photos, which are automatically optimized, add videos using links or supported uploaded files, and attach important documents such as certificates or letters. Available limits depend on your plan.

Editing & Moderation

You can edit a memorial from your dashboard. New memorials and certain changes may be reviewed before appearing publicly, helping us maintain a respectful environment for everyone.

Preservation Plans

Every memorial is created under a plan that determines its scheduled preservation period and the features available to it:

  • Basic (10 years) - preservation with core memorial features.
  • Legacy (100 years) - extended preservation with expanded limits for photos, video, and family connections.
  • Infinity (no scheduled expiration date) - preservation without a scheduled expiration date, higher limits, and additional features such as DNA Preservation.

For current pricing and plan details, see the Prices page. Where available, you can request an upgrade to Infinity from your dashboard.

What Makes Us Different

The 3D Cemetery

Every memorial can have a place in a virtual cemetery that you can walk through. Move between graves, explore the grounds, and find family members resting nearby. Open the 3D cemetery from a memorial page or from the homepage.

Time Capsules

A time capsule lets you leave more than words. You can combine a written message, photos, and video and schedule them for release on a future date. The capsule remains locked until its scheduled release date, subject to the applicable service terms.

Family Ties

Link memorials to one another to build a navigable family tree of real memorial pages. When you connect two memorials, the other person may be asked to confirm the relationship.

Digital Testament

Designate a trusted person to help manage your RIP.GD account in the future. If the account becomes inactive for an extended period, the designated trusted contact may be given access or management rights according to the Digital Testament procedure, your account settings, and the applicable agreement. This feature is intended to help preserve your digital legacy and does not replace a legal will or other estate-planning document.

360° Grave Panoramas

Upload a panoramic photo of the real grave so relatives can recognize it and find it more easily when they visit in person. You can also store the grave's location and plot number, turning the digital memorial into a practical guide to the physical resting place.

DNA Preservation

Available on the Infinity plan through a qualified third-party partner laboratory, DNA Preservation may allow a biological sample to be preserved and associated with the memorial record. Biological sample collection, storage, processing, and related services are provided under the applicable third-party arrangements and the separate DNA Preservation Agreement.

QR Plaques for the Graveside

Connect the physical resting place to the digital memorial with a QR code. Anyone who scans it at the graveside can open the memorial on their phone.

How to order

  1. Open the memorial and tap the QR icon.
  2. Choose Order a physical plaque.
  3. Select a plaque type, enter the delivery address, and place the order. The cost is charged from your account balance.

You will receive email updates as your order is produced, shipped, with a tracking number where available, and delivered. Plaques are made from weather-resistant materials designed for outdoor use and exposure to wind, rain, snow, and UV.

Tributes, Favorites & Reminders

Gifts & Flowers

Leave a gift or flowers on a memorial for a selected period. They appear on the memorial as a mark of remembrance. Gifts are paid from your account balance.

Comments

Share memories and condolences. Comments may be reviewed before appearing publicly to help keep every memorial respectful.

Highlight & Promotion

Give a memorial additional visibility by promoting it to the top of listings for a selected period or adding a color highlight to make its card stand out.

Saving Favorites

Save any memorial to your favorites so you can return to it quickly from your dashboard. Favorites are personal to your account and do not change the memorial itself.

Memorial Dates

Important memorial dates, such as a birthday or day of passing, can be used by the Platform to provide date-based features and reminders. Available date settings depend on the memorial and the features enabled for your account.

Email Reminders

You may receive email reminders related to selected memorial dates, scheduled events, or other reminder settings available through the Platform. Reminder preferences can be managed through your account where the applicable controls are available.

Schedules & Automated Notifications

Some Platform features can operate according to schedules or dates you select. The Platform may automatically send service notifications, reminders, or other messages when a scheduled event or relevant account activity occurs.

A Candle for Every Soul

On each memorial's birthday and day of passing, we automatically light a candle at no charge as a mark of remembrance.

The 3D Cemetery in Detail

The 3D cemetery is a place you can visit any time to walk among the memorials of people you knew and loved. It is one of the features that makes RIP.GD different, and there is a lot to explore.

Moving around

Walking through the cemetery is simple. On a computer, use the arrow keys or W, A, S, D to move and your mouse to look around. On a phone, on-screen controls appear for movement, along with prompts to help guide you through the space.

Walk up to a monument to open that person's memorial - read their story, leave a comment, send a gift, listen to available music, or access other available features.

At the start and end of each cemetery there are gates. Use them to leave or press ESC, and use the available entrances to visit other cemeteries. We continue to add new and varied environments as the project develops.

Plots & reserving a location

You can reserve a plot in the 3D cemetery so your memorial has a designated location there. Plot reservations are subject to the applicable plan, payment, availability, and service terms.

Where a location has not been reserved, the system may assign the memorial to another available location. Reserving a specific location is especially useful if you want your memorial near a particular feature, such as a fountain, or if you want family monuments - double or triple - to remain together.

Monuments

The Basic plan includes a small memorial plate showing the surname, name, and dates without a photo. Paid plans provide additional monument options, including different sizes and shapes and the ability to create family monuments where supported.

We continue to add monuments, decorations, and environmental details as the project develops. Where available, you may also request additional decorations around your plot, such as a fence or tree, subject to availability and applicable fees.

Gifts, music & atmosphere

Registered users can do more than visit. Depending on the cemetery and available features, you may leave gifts and flowers, write comments, choose music or effects, and interact with certain environmental settings.

Guests who are not signed in have more limited options. Creating an account is completely free and gives you access to the full range of features available to registered users.

Create a Memorial in Advance - For Yourself or Someone You Love

Life can change in a single moment, often before we've had the chance to leave the mark we intended. Creating a memorial in advance is a way to prepare your story and preserve the information that matters to you.

You can prepare a memorial for yourself, a friend, or a relative while there is still time - choose and reserve an available plot and monument, upload photos and videos, write a biography in your own words, and attach documents that matter. The memorial remains private until it is prepared for publication.

How to prepare one

This feature works through the Reserve button, which is available on paid plans only (Legacy and Infinity).

  1. Create and fill in the memorial as usual, but leave the date of passing empty.
  2. In the edit form, press the “Reserve” button.
  3. The memorial is saved and remains hidden from public view until it is prepared for publication.

Later, when appropriate, a person authorized to manage the memorial - such as a relative or designated trusted contact - can provide the required information and initiate publication according to the applicable procedure.

Arranging for future publication

This option is available on the Infinity plan only. If you want RIP.GD to be designated as the trusted contact for future account or memorial administration, use the trusted-contact information provided in your account or official RIP.GD instructions.

One condition applies: you should sign in to your account at least once a year. If you stop signing in for an extended period, the procedures described in the applicable Digital Testament terms may be initiated. Where necessary, our team may attempt to contact the people or services listed in the account to obtain information needed to determine the appropriate next steps.

Any future publication, account access, or administrative action remains subject to verification, the applicable service terms, and any information required to establish the relevant circumstances.

Your Balance & Payments

Many paid features - including gifts, promotion, QR plaques, and plots - are paid from your account balance. This keeps payments in one place and lets you use paid features without entering payment details each time.

Topping up

Add funds from your dashboard using an available card payment method or PayPal. Subject to successful payment processing, your updated balance is normally available after the transaction is completed.

Billing history

Every top-up and purchase is listed under Billing & History, where you can review transactions and download available records.

Large payments

For large or special payments, use the Payment Request form and our team can help arrange an appropriate payment method.

Wallet refunds

Unused account balance may be eligible for a refund when an account is closed, subject to the Refund Policy and any applicable payment-provider, processing, or banking fees.

A note on payment fraud

We monitor transactions for suspected payment fraud and abuse in order to protect our community and keep the service fair for everyone. Examples may include unauthorized card use, fraudulent payment disputes, or attempting to reverse or charge back a payment after using the credited funds.

Where appropriate, we may temporarily restrict affected account functions while a transaction, payment dispute, or suspected abuse is reviewed. Accounts may be suspended or other measures may be taken where our Terms or applicable law permit. Please only use payment methods that belong to you or that you are authorized to use.
