Biography
Born in June 1939 in the village of Pyatikhatky in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The family then moved to Zaporizhzhia, and Nina was sent to study at Secondary School No. 55. When the war began, her father, Mikhail Shepel, went to the front and served as a tank commander. Her mother, Alexandra Shepeleva, remained in the city with her three daughters: the eldest, Nadya, Nina, and the youngest, Valya. Life was difficult after the war, and she dropped out of school and went to work at the Abrasive Plant. At 18, she married a promising young lathe operator, Grigory Stepanovich Belovodenko, who also worked at the same plant. Soon they began building their own house. A few months later, their son, Vitaly, was born. In 1953, their daughter, Tatyana, was born.
Nina worked as an inspector at the Abrasive Plant until her retirement. She died on June 14, 2011, at 2:00 PM at her home.
She is buried at the Pervomayskoye (Southern) Cemetery in Zaporizhzhia, next to her husband.
