Ben Miller

Biography

Ben Miller was a man of steady hands and quiet purpose. A graduate of MIT, he spent his life as an engineer, helping to restore the historic bridges and harbor works of Massachusetts - careful, principled work that outlived him in the very structures he helped build.
In the spring of 1991, his life changed forever when he lost his wife, Sarah, and was left to raise their five-year-old son, Thomas, alone. He never remarried. Instead, he poured himself into his son and his work, carrying his family forward with quiet devotion. Ben passed away peacefully at home in the autumn of 2022, surrounded by the family archives and drawings he had kept his whole life. He is remembered in the bridges he built and in the hearts of those who loved him.
