Biography

Oleksandr Mykolaiovych Miliienko was born on December 5, 1995, in the village of Pryvorottia, Zhytomyr region. He completed his studies at the local gymnasium and from an early age showed a love for creativity and practical skills. He enjoyed cooking and during his conscript service with the Border Guard in Ovruch was often recognized for his work in field kitchens. Oleksandr also had a passion for drawing and worked at the “Kompas” enterprise before dedicating himself fully to military service.

He first joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the Anti-Terrorist Operation and later the Joint Forces Operation, gaining valuable combat experience. After his contract ended in December 2021, he briefly returned to civilian life.

However, when Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022, Oleksandr once again took up arms to defend his homeland. He served as a rifleman in the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade, where his comrades gave him the call sign “Festival.” Known for his ability to lift spirits even after the hardest battles, he brought humor and positivity to his unit, embodying resilience and camaraderie.

On March 31, 2023, near the city of Kreminna in Luhansk region, Oleksandr was killed in an enemy artillery strike while performing a combat mission.

For his bravery and sacrifice, he was posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage,” 3rd Class.

The Senior Soldier Oleksandr Miliienko was laid to rest in his native village of Pryvorottia, Zhytomyr region.

To honor his memory, his family created a children’s playground in the village, ensuring that his legacy would live on in the laughter and joy of future generations.

His life and sacrifice remain a testament to courage, kindness, and unwavering devotion to Ukraine.
