Biography
Ekaterina Romanovna Maltseva was born in 1923 in the village of Vasilyevka, Krasnoyarsk Krai. She completed eighth grade.
She trained as an electrician and began working at the central power plant as a senior duty officer.
In 1944, she studied at Tomsk State University, passed the 9th and 10th grade exams, and completed a radio operator course.
From 1944 to 1946, she served in the Soviet Army. In March, she was transferred to work as a secretary at the Minusinsk Military Prosecutor's Office.
In 1947, she was transferred to the village of Predivinsk as a senior secretary. She was then transferred to the Predivinsky Precinct of the Yenisei Basin as an investigator. There she met Yevgeny Yevgenyevich Bauer, who had been evacuated from besieged Leningrad in 1942 as an enemy of the people.
In 1948, she was dismissed from her position for associating with an "enemy of the people" and temporarily hired as an accountant in the transport department at the Predivinsk Shipyard. That same year, she and Yevgeny had a son, Georgy.
In 1950, their daughter, Irina, was born.
In 1951, Ekaterina was hired as a commodity specialist at the shipyard.
In 1953, she was transferred as an accountant to the housing and communal services department, and then appointed as a statistician in the planning and production department. That same year, the family moved to Minusinsk because Yevgeny had to leave Predivinsk.
In 1954, their daughter, Anna, was born. Ekaterina worked as an accountant and cashier in the Minusinsk transport convoy. In 1961, she was hired as a controller at the Minusinsk Central Savings Bank.
In 1965, the family moved to Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine. Ekaterina found work as a cashier at savings bank number 144.
In 1966, she was hired as a materials desk accountant at the Souvenir Plant.
In 1975, she was hired as a heater operator in the mechanical preparation shop at the Electrical Installation Products Plant.
In 1977, she was transferred to butt welding machines for copper-aluminum plates and tips, and was awarded the 1st welder category.
In 1978, she retired.
She died on October 14, 2005, at approximately 8:00 PM at her home. She was buried at the Levanevskoye Cemetery in Zaporizhzhia, next to her husband.
