He pursued higher education at Nizhyn State University named after Mykola Gogol, where he trained as a mathematics teacher. In civilian life, Serhii devoted much of his time to designing and producing furniture, later moving to Kyiv during the pandemic in 2020. For the last two years before the war, he worked as a manager in a chain of pet stores, combining responsibility with dedication to his work.

When Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022, Serhii joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Kostiantyn Ostrozkyi. His comrades knew him by the call sign “Loza,” and he quickly earned respect for his calmness, honesty, and commitment to duty. His leadership qualities and sense of responsibility distinguished him as an officer who inspired trust and confidence.

On June 25, 2023, during combat near the village of Pryvillia close to Soledar in Donetsk region, Serhii was killed while repelling an enemy assault. He came under mortar fire and sustained fatal injuries.

For his courage and sacrifice, he was posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, 3rd Class.

The warrior was laid to rest in his native Yemilchyne, Zhytomyr region.
