Biography

Tetiana Volodymyrivna Koval was born on December 7, 1981, in the village of Nova Kozacha, Kharkiv region. From her youth she was known for her energy and devotion to family. She studied economics at the Kharkiv National University of Economics named after Semen Kuznets, preparing herself for a career in business and management.

Together with her sister Yuliia and their father, Tetiana co‑founded a shop in the town of Zolochiv, which offered children’s goods, gifts, and bicycles. She was remembered as hardworking and cheerful, always putting her daughter first. Friends and relatives admired her for her kindness and her ability to balance family responsibilities with entrepreneurial activity.

In April 2022, Nova Kozacha was under Russian occupation, and the community faced severe shortages of food and medicine. On April 15, Tetiana, her sister, and their father set out for Kharkiv to bring back supplies for the villagers. On the return journey, near the village of Turove in Bohodukhiv district, their minibus was struck by a powerful explosion - either enemy fire or a hidden mine. All three were killed instantly.

Initially, the family was buried near the site of the tragedy due to the impossibility of transporting the bodies. Later, after the de‑occupation of the region, their remains were reburied in Nova Kozacha, where they rest together.

Tetiana left behind her mother, Iryna, and an adult daughter.

She is remembered as a devoted mother, a caring daughter, and a woman of resilience whose life was dedicated to her family and community. Her memory endures in the hearts of those who loved her.
