Biography
Oleksandr Serhiiovych Koklonskyi was born on June 6, 2003, in Kirovohrad region, but spent most of his life in Zaporizhzhia. There he completed his studies at Lysohirska School and later pursued a degree in law at Zaporizhzhia National University. Bright and determined, he was remembered as a cheerful young man with a strong sense of justice and responsibility. After graduation, like many of his peers, he traveled to Poland to work and plan for the future, but the war changed the course of his life.
Following Russia’s full-scale invasion, Oleksandr returned to Ukraine, driven by a deep sense of duty. He volunteered to join the Azov Regiment, where his comrades gave him the call sign “Polyak,” symbolizing his journey back from Poland to take up arms in defense of his homeland. His decision reflected both courage and conviction, as he chose service over personal safety.
From March 2023, Oleksandr served in the National Guard of Ukraine, in military unit 3057. He rose to the position of junior sergeant and commander of an artillery group. His fellow soldiers recalled his calmness and composure even in the most difficult situations, his ability to support others, and his refusal to complain despite hardships. His leadership and resilience made him a trusted figure among his comrades.
On November 5, 2025, during combat operations in Donetsk region, Oleksandr was killed in an enemy artillery strike in the Kramatorsk district.
His sacrifice was honored by his comrades and community, who remembered him as a brave defender and a young man whose life embodied dedication and service.
The Hero was laid down in the village of Lysohirka, Zaporizhia region.
Oleksandr Koklonskyi’s memory endures as that of a loyal son of Ukraine, a fearless soldier, and a man who gave his life for freedom. His courage and devotion will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and fellow warriors.
