Biography
Volodymyr Tarasovych Voliak was born on February 24, 1997, in the village of Dvirtci, Lviv region. He spent his childhood there before moving to Lviv, where he completed his studies at Secondary School No.97 in 2012. After graduation, he chose a peaceful profession, training as a cook and confectioner at the Lviv Vocational College of Restaurant Business.
In 2017, Volodymyr was conscripted for mandatory military service. It was during this time that he made the decisive choice to continue his path as a professional soldier, signing a contract and dedicating himself to the defense of Ukraine. He took part in the Joint Forces Operation, gaining valuable combat experience and proving his commitment to service.
When Russia launched its full-scale invasion in 2022, Volodymyr once again stood firm in defense of his homeland. He served on the Chernihiv front as part of the 105th Border Detachment named after Prince Volodymyr the Great of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. His courage and devotion were recognized with the departmental distinction “For Courage in Border Protection,” awarded by the Head of the State Border Guard Service.
On October 11, 2025, while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Zoria in Novhorod-Siverskyi district, Chernihiv region, Volodymyr was killed in action. His life, dedicated to service and sacrifice, became a testament to unwavering patriotism and loyalty to Ukraine.
Volodymyr Voliak was laid to rest on October 23, 2025, in his native village of Dvirtci, Lviv region.
Remembered as a courageous defender and devoted son of Ukraine, Volodymyr inspired those around him through his loyalty and strength of spirit. His sacrifice and service will never be forgotten by his family, friends, and fellow servicemen.
