Biography

Stepan Stepanovych Shtyk was born on September 23, 2007, in Zaporizhzhia. He studied at Secondary School No.24, completing nine grades before enrolling at the Zaporizhzhia Construction Center for Vocational and Technical Education. There, he pursued training with the goal of becoming a logistics expediter.

Stepan was an active and cheerful young man. Before the full-scale war, he played football professionally, showing discipline and passion for the sport. He loved traveling, spending time with friends, and sharing moments with his girlfriend, Sofiia Osadcha. He also enjoyed computer games and electronic music, hobbies that connected him closely with his peers.

On February 3, 2026, a heartbreaking tragedy unfolded. That evening, Stepan and Sofiia were returning from the cinema when Russian drones attacked the Khortytskyi district of Zaporizhzhia. Both 18-year-old students of the Construction Center were killed instantly. Their lives, filled with promise and dreams for the future, were cut short in a moment of violence.

Stepan is remembered by his father, grandparents, and friends as a kind-hearted, calm, and balanced young man who was always ready to help. His presence brought warmth and reassurance to those around him. Though his life was brief, it was marked by sincerity, loyalty, and love.

He remains forever in the memory of his family and friends as a symbol of youth and hope stolen by war, a bright soul whose legacy endures in the hearts of all who knew him.
