Biography
Oleksii Valeriiovych Rokoman was born on March 23, 1991, in the village of Halaikivtsi, Vinnytsia region. He attended the local school before continuing his studies at the Kyiv Vocational Transport Lyceum, where he trained as a body repair specialist and electric gas welder. In civilian life, Oleksii worked in construction, earning respect for his diligence and reliability. He enjoyed fishing and was remembered as a man of simple joys and strong character.
In July 2022, Oleksii volunteered to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine, serving in the 44th Separate Rifle Battalion. Known by his call sign “Felix,” he fought alongside his comrades in the defense of Kharkiv and Donetsk regions. His service was marked by resilience and courage, even in the face of repeated hardships. In January 2023, while carrying out a combat mission, he suffered pneumonia and frostbite, requiring hospitalization and surgery. Despite these challenges, he returned to the front. Later, in March, he was wounded in the leg during fighting in Donetsk, but once again recovered and rejoined his unit.
On August 23, 2023, during combat near the village of Terny in Donetsk region, Oleksii was fatally wounded by enemy fire.
His sacrifice was recognized with the Order “For Courage,” 3rd Class, awarded posthumously, as well as the distinction “Warrior’s Star” from his battalion.
Oleksii Rokoman was laid to rest in his native village of Halaikivtsi, Vinnytsia region. He is remembered as a loving son, brother, and loyal comrade, whose devotion to Ukraine never faltered.
The legacy of Senior Soldier Oleksii Rokoman endures as a symbol of bravery, resilience, and selfless service. His story and sacrifice will never fade from the hearts of those who knew him and fought alongside him.
