Biography

Sofiia Hryhorivna Osadcha was born on April 20, 2007, in Zaporizhzhia, where she grew up surrounded by family and friends. She studied at the Construction Center for Vocational and Technical Education, specializing in computer layout and office management.

By the age of 18, she was already in her third year of studies and dreamed of continuing her education to earn a bachelor’s degree.

Sofiia was a bright, responsible, and cheerful young woman. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters, going to the cinema, skating, and meeting friends at cafés. She was always ready to help others, often caring for her younger relatives.
Together with her beloved Stepan Shtyk, she built plans for the future, filled with hope and love.

On the evening of February 3, 2026, Sofiia and Stepan were returning from the cinema when Russian drones struck the Khortytskyi district of Zaporizhzhia. Both 18-year-old students of the Zaporizhzhia Construction Center for Vocational and Technical Education were killed instantly. The attack ended their young lives and shattered the dreams they had been building together.

Sofiia is bewailed by her mother, two sisters, and great-grandmother as a kind-hearted daughter and sister whose warmth touched everyone around her.
Her memory endures as a symbol of youth, love, and promise stolen by war. Though her life was brief, it was filled with light, and she will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
