Biography
Maksym Serhiiovych Oliinyk was born on September 26, 1989, in the city of Dobropillia, Donetsk region, into a mining family. He completed his studies at School No.4 and later graduated from Donetsk State University of Management, specializing in finance. From a young age, he was passionate about sports, mastering boxing and kickboxing, and later developing an interest in marksmanship.
In 2014, when Russia began its war against Ukraine, Maksym was forced to leave his home and rebuild his life elsewhere. He lived for two years in Dnipro before moving to Kyiv, where he established a woodworking enterprise in Chernihiv region. He married, traveled widely, and pursued entrepreneurial projects with determination and optimism. His guiding principle was action over words, and he often supported others quietly, without seeking recognition.
When Russia launched its full-scale invasion in 2022, Maksym’s business was destroyed. He joined the territorial defense and actively volunteered, assisting defenders at the front. Despite personal hardships, he continued to create new projects, including the development of an IT program, for which he had already prepared a demo version.
On January 28, 2026, tragedy happened. A Russian drone hit the residential building in Bilohorodka, Kyiv region, where Maksym lived. The explosion and fire destroyed the apartment, killing him and his partner, Svitlana Chernovol. Their young daughter survived.
Maksym and his common-law wife, Svitlana, were buried at the central cemetery in the village of Bilohorodka, Kyiv region.
He is remembered by his parents, sister, nephew, and extended family as a determined, generous, and resilient man. His memory endures as that of a devoted son and brother, and a visionary entrepreneur.
