Biography

Oleksii Anatoliiovych Klymenko was born on January 1, 1972, in the settlement of Oleksandrivka, Donetsk region. He studied at local schools in Bohorodychne and Sviatohirsk before moving with his family to Sloviansk. There, he graduated from the Donbas State Pedagogical University, earning a degree as a teacher of labor studies.

Over the years, Oleksii worked in various fields - teaching physical education, practicing landscape design, running his own business, and most recently, working in construction.

Oleksii was remembered as a joyful, energetic, and positive man. He was a devoted family member and loyal friend, admired for his warmth and resilience. His life reflected versatility and dedication, combining professional achievements with a deep commitment to his loved ones.

On the morning of March 10, 2026, Russian forces carried out an airstrike on Sloviansk. A bomb fell near his apartment building on Torska Street, and Oleksii, who was inside his home, sustained severe injuries. He was taken to the hospital, where doctors fought for his life for a week. On March 17, 2026, he passed away in intensive care without regaining consciousness.

Oleksii Klymenko is survived by his wife, an adult son, and a young daughter. His memory endures as that of a hardworking man, a loving father, and a steadfast friend whose life was taken by war. He remains forever in the hearts of his family, colleagues and friends, a symbol of strength and kindness.
