Biography
Vladyslav Oleksiiovych Horbunov was born on May 3, 2000, in the city of Pokrovsk, Donetsk region. From an early age, he was passionate about sports and dedicated himself to rugby, becoming a multiple-time champion of Donetsk region and a silver medalist at the national level. His energy, discipline, and determination made him a respected athlete and teammate, while his cheerful and kind nature earned him the love of friends and family.
In 2021, Vladyslav chose to serve his country and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He became a gunner in the 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade, taking on the responsibility of defending his homeland. His call sign reflected his strong spirit and commitment to duty. Despite his young age, he carried himself with maturity and courage, embodying the qualities of a true defender.
When Russia launched its full-scale invasion, Vladyslav fought to protect his native region. On June 20, 2022, during combat near the settlement of Zolota Nyva in Donetsk region, he was killed in action while carrying out a mission.
His sacrifice was a profound loss to his family, comrades, and community, who remembered him as a bright, positive, and selfless young man who loved life and gave everything for Ukraine.
Vladyslav Horbunov was laid to rest in the city of Myrnohrad, Donetsk region.
His memory endures as that of a devoted son of Ukraine, a gifted athlete, and a fearless warrior whose life and sacrifice will forever remain in the hearts of his loved ones and his nation.
