Biography
Maksym Illich Hibadullin was born on January 4, 2002, in Chernivtsi. He grew up in his native city, where he completed his schooling. From an early age, he was active and energetic, enjoying sports and dreaming of traveling. After finishing school, he fulfilled his mandatory military service, gaining discipline and experience. Later, he worked abroad for a time, but when Russia launched its full-scale invasion, Maksym returned home, determined to defend his country.
He joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served in the 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade. His comrades knew him by the call sign “Barber,” a name that reflected his civilian profession before the war, when he worked as a barber in Chernivtsi. In the army, he rose to the position of squad commander, taking responsibility for his fellow soldiers and proving himself as a reliable and courageous leader.
On March 2, 2023, during combat near the village of Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region, Maksym was fatally wounded in a mortar attack. He was only 21 years old.
His sacrifice was deeply mourned by his family, friends, and comrades, who remembered him as a young man full of kindness, strength, and loyalty. For his service and dedication, he was posthumously honored with the medal “For the Glory of Chernivtsi.”
Maksym Hibadullin was laid to rest on the Alley of Glory at the Central Cemetery in his native Chernivtsi.
His memory endures as that of a devoted son of Ukraine, a talented barber, and a fearless defender whose life, though short, left a lasting mark on those who knew him. The example he left behind stands as a lasting tribute to bravery and loyalty to his homeland.
