Serhii Mykolaiovych Dubyna was born on January 29, 1975, in the town of Seredyna‑Buda, Sumy region. From childhood he was drawn to sports and education.
After finishing secondary school, he pursued higher studies and became a teacher of physical education. He worked in his hometown school and also served as a football coach, raising generations of young athletes. His students remembered him as patient, kind, and dedicated to their growth.
Serhii built his life in Seredyna‑Buda, where he combined his teaching career with community service. He loved fishing in his free time and was known for his gentle character and devotion to family. With the outbreak of the full‑scale war, he became an essential figure in his community, driving people between Seredyna‑Buda and Shostka, delivering pensions, parcels, and food despite constant danger. His courage and sense of responsibility made him a lifeline for many.
In 2025, Serhii moved with his family to Shostka for safety, but he continued to travel back to his hometown. On November 6, 2025, while transporting civilians, his car was struck by a Russian drone attack near Seredyna‑Buda. Though others survived, Serhii sustained fatal injuries and died later that day in hospital.
He left behind his mother, wife, daughter, grandchildren, stepdaughter, and brother.
Serhii Dubyna is remembered as a devoted teacher, coach, and family man, a person of kindness and quiet strength whose life was dedicated to others.
