Biography

Volodymyr Anatoliiovych Bolshak was born on February 24, 1972, in the city of Bakhmach, Chernihiv region. After finishing school, he studied at a vocational college in Shostka, where he trained as a cook and confectioner. He later fulfilled his mandatory military service, and during this time met his future wife, Iryna, at the wedding of a former classmate.

In 1992, Volodymyr moved to Chernihiv to live with his wife. He began working at the local automobile plant as a mechanic-assembler, a profession to which he devoted nearly three decades. His colleagues valued his skill, discipline, and reliability, and he earned numerous commendations for his work.
Outside of his profession, Volodymyr was passionate about cars and often attended races with his sons. He was a calm, balanced, and thoughtful man, deeply respected by his family and friends.

On March 13, 2022, tragedy struck. At dawn, a Russian aircraft dropped a bomb on a dormitory in the ZAZ district of Chernihiv, where Volodymyr and his family were living. His wife and son miraculously survived, though both sustained injuries. Volodymyr, however, was fatally wounded by shrapnel in their apartment.

Volodymyr Bolshak was laid to rest at the Koti cemetery in Chernihiv.

He is remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and dedicated worker whose life was cut short by war. He will always be remembered by his family, colleagues, and friends, as a symbol of quiet strength and resilience.
