Biography
Dmytro Ivanovych Vinichenko was born on May 20, 1994, in the village of Semenenkove, Zaporizhzhia region. From his youth, he showed discipline and determination, qualities that later defined his path in life. In 2011, he graduated from Zaporizhzhia Lyceum “Zakhysnyk,” where he received enhanced military and physical training. Continuing his education, he studied at the Zaporizhzhia State Engineering Academy, graduating in 2017. Alongside his studies, Dmytro worked at the metallurgical plant “Zaporizhstal,” gaining professional experience and contributing to his community.
Driven by a sense of duty, he signed a contract with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, where he served for nearly three years. His service at the border strengthened his resolve and prepared him for the challenges that lay ahead. With the outbreak of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, Dmytro once again answered the call to defend his homeland. He joined the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa, serving as a unit commander. His leadership, responsibility, and courage earned him respect among his comrades.
In 2024, Dmytro and his wife Anna purchased a home in the settlement of Brailiv, Vinnytsia region, where she lived while awaiting his return. Their family was expecting a child, and Dmytro dreamed of peaceful days together after victory. Sadly, those dreams were cut short. On June 29, 2025, during fierce fighting near the village of Verkhniokamianske in Donetsk region, he was fatally wounded by explosive injuries. His daughter was born after his passing, a living reminder of the future he had longed to see.
Dmytro was remembered as a disciplined, responsible, and kind man. He loved reading, learning new things, and spending time in nature and the mountains. His wife described him as her protector and support, a true patriot who embodied the spirit of his nation.
For his bravery, he was posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, 3rd Class.
His memory lives on in his wife, daughter, parents, sister, and brother, as well as in the hearts of his comrades and all who knew him.
Dmytro Vinichenko’s life was a testament to devotion, resilience, and sacrifice. He stood firm in defense of Ukraine, gave his strength and courage to the struggle for freedom, and ultimately laid down his life for the independence of his homeland.
