Biography
Mariia Valentynivna Trembak was born on July 25, 1965, in the village of Varivtsi, Khmelnytskyi region. After marriage she moved with her husband to Murmansk, Russia, where he worked as a miner. When their son was born, the couple returned to Ukraine, wishing to raise him in a Ukrainian school. Mariia worked as a nanny in a kindergarten, later as a postwoman, and in recent years devoted herself to her household.
Together with her husband Ivan, Mariia settled in the village of Bohuslavka in Kharkiv region. They were known as patriots, supporting Ukrainian soldiers as early as 2014 by welcoming them into their home, washing their clothes, and providing food.
During the full‑scale invasion, Bohuslavka fell under occupation, and the couple temporarily left. After liberation, they returned and once again offered help to defenders of Ukraine.
Mariia was remembered as gentle and kind, deeply devoted to her family. She loved flowers, filling her yard with roses and lilies, and cared for her household and elderly relatives. She and her husband raised a daughter and a son, and were respected by their children for their warmth and dedication.
On the night of August 23, 2024, Bohuslavka came under heavy bombardment. Three aerial bombs struck the Trembak home, destroying it completely. Mariia and her husband were killed.
Mariia Trembak was buried in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region.
She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, whose life was filled with care for her family and devotion to her country. Her memory endures in her children and three grandchildren.
