Viacheslav Mykhailovych Shevtsov was born on February 17, 1966, in the city of Chernihiv, Chernihiv region. From an early age, he showed a lively and creative spirit. After completing his studies at Secondary School No. 13, he pursued technical training and mastered the profession of an electrician. His career path later led him to the cultural sphere, where he worked as a sound director at the Chernihiv Youth Theater, combining technical skill with artistic dedication. Outside of work, he enjoyed cooking and was known for his cheerful character and sense of humor.

Life took a decisive turn with the outbreak of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Despite being 58 years old, Viacheslav did not hesitate to join the defense of his homeland. He enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, serving in the 1st Separate Tank Brigade. His role was that of a drone operator, a position requiring precision, courage, and resilience. Known by the call sign “Mikhalych,” he became a valued comrade, embodying strength of spirit and unwavering commitment to his country.

On August 23, 2024, during a combat mission near the village of Snagist in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, Viacheslav Shevtsov heroically fell in battle. His sacrifice was a testament to his devotion to Ukraine’s freedom and independence. He was laid to rest in Yatsevo Cemetery in Chernihiv, where his memory continues to live on among family, friends, and fellow soldiers.

Viacheslav's life story reflects the path of a man who combined creativity, humor, and kindness with bravery and duty. He will forever be remembered not only as a professional and a father but also as a warrior-defender of the Ukrainian homeland, whose courage stands as an inspiration to future generations.
