Biography

Anton Valentynovych Lystopad was born on September 17, 1991, in Ust-Yorga, Arkhangelsk region, Russia, into the family of a distinguished military pilot. His childhood and youth were spent in Ivano-Frankivsk, where he attended Secondary School No. 2 and later the Scientific Physics and Technical Lyceum. From an early age, Anton showed remarkable intelligence and discipline, excelling in his studies and developing a passion for aviation. He continued his education at the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas before committing himself fully to a military career.

In 2010, Anton signed his first contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Two years later, he entered the Kharkiv National Air Force University named after Ivan Kozhedub, graduating in 2018 as a highly skilled pilot. Following in his father’s footsteps, he became a military aviator of the highest class.
His professionalism and dedication quickly distinguished him among his peers, and he was assigned to the 204th Tactical Aviation Brigade named after Oleksandr Pokryshkin, where he served as a pilot-navigator.

Anton took part in the Joint Forces Operation in eastern Ukraine, demonstrating courage and leadership. In 2019, he was recognized as the best pilot of the Ukrainian Air Force. In 2021, he led the aviation column that flew over Kyiv’s Khreshchatyk during the parade marking the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence. His achievements reflected not only his skill but also his devotion to his country.

With the outbreak of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, Anton continued to serve on the front lines, carrying out combat missions with determination and bravery. Just days before his death, he was awarded the Order “For Courage,” 3rd Class, for his valor.
On August 8, 2022, Anton was killed during a mission in the Vinnytsia region.

Posthumously, he was promoted to the rank of Major.

Anton Lystopad was laid to rest in the village of Chukalivka, Ivano-Frankivsk region. He is remembered as one of Ukraine’s finest military pilots, a devoted son, husband, and patriot. His legacy lives on through the honors bestowed in his name, including the renaming of a street in Vinnytsia and a memorial plaque at his former school.
